I now think about the movie God's Army differently. I use to think how courageous the missionaries were and how stupid was the missionary who left. Now, the hero is the missionary who left. What a turn-a-round.

I wonder if that movie is what got Richard to leave the church?

It would be great if Richard could make a movie telling the other side of Church history. Look for and read richards reply in the link below:

I had a conversation with Richard about making a Joseph Smith movie. He said it would take millions to do it right, but (paraphrasing) "Nobody outside of Mormonism gives a shit, and the Mormons will fight you all the way. The only people who would be interested are exmormons".

Unfortunately, it's true. We're obsessed with it because it screwed our lives over (and that of our ancestors). But, it's like saying, "who wants to watch this fascinating movie about the crazy life of L. Ron Hubbard?"
