Leah - AA70s do not get paid. They can reimbursed for travel expenses, but since they are typically local, that is mileage for gas only, and most don't bother.
One time while talking to an AA70 and his wife I asked about how they do conference visits. She told me that the church would pay her airfare but she'd get a W2 which meant higher taxes for their family. Thus she rarely traveled with him to conferences. He was an AA70 on the east coast of the USA and traveled by air about 2 weekends per month for church work.
