Is the Mormon PR campaign a tax exempt expense?

One of the posters at the NYT comments section on the ad campaign asked this. I think it's a very good question...if it is, then we are all paying for it indirectly at least.

And, if they can do it, how many other religious propaganda campaigns do we the taxpayers have to fund?

Churches don't pay taxes. It's the members of the Morg who are paying for the advertising. (n/t)
