The Smith family magic parchment is shown as a picture in D. Michael Quinn's book Mormonism and the Magic World View.
One particular interesting symbol is of the First Good Angel of Ceremonial Magic who goes by the name Jubanladace.
This name can be traced back to a man named Dr. Dee Smith who was a cryptologist and spy for Queen Elisabeth in the late 1500's. Dr. Dee Smith, no relation that I know of to the Smith family, and his side kick developed a ceremonial magic method for summoning angels by the use of scrying on a magic table covered with angelic letters representing names of angels.
Later on, groups such as the O.T.O. and Golden Dawn developed much more useable forms of magical ceremony via a man named Alister Crowley.
Both of these groups have an initiation and temple ceremony like the mormons.
Interesting stuff...
