Is it a Santa song? A traditional carol? A hymn? Something contemporary? Dish!

I'd have to say my very favorite is The Holly and The Ivy:

Another favorite is In Dulci Jubilo:

My faves, with one exception, are traditional hymns-

Angels We Have Heard On High
O Come All Ye Faithful
Hark the Herald Angels Sing (my favorite rendition is at the end of A Charlie Brown Christmas)

The contemporary fave is Do They Know It's Christmas? It is SUCH a fantastic song and not at all sappy.

Joni Mitchell- I Wish I had a River. It's not technically a Christmas song but I love it.

Bah Humbug...I can't wait for it to be over.

Sorry, but that's just how I feel. I can't go anywhere without hearing stupid Christmas music. I just want Christmas to go away.

I love it. It's a time for me to indulge my romantic side. :)

I second that one.

I also love "Ave Maria." I don't think that is necessarily a Christmas song, but it gets played a lot during the season.

I don't remember ever hearing it in church when I was a Mormon, but I understand it gets played/sung now. Glad I don't associate the song with LDS memories.

This is my all-time favorite symphony. But the chorale part, Ode To Joy, was written by Josef Schiller. It's a beer hall song. :)

We sing "Ode to Joy" in our church thru all seasons. The religious name is "Joyfull, Joyfull We Adore You". Also done at many weddings.

But my heart belongs to Schiller. :) It's meaning in German is very, very different than the English religious one... :)

Love Christmas.

Christmas in many ways links us back to our childhood and the traditions of our families.

Favourite song, Do You Hear What I Hear:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nWVU7ZbbVps

Christmas wouldn't feel the same without Bing Crosby, and Sinatra and Harry Bellafonte...and Burl Ives...and more.

I like most Christmas songs. I really love Christmas as I know most years I will be home for a short time at that time. Then just a few months till spring break-up and home for awhile.

I like the Nutcracker suite. I also like Tchaikovsky's 1st symphony "Winter Reveries." I like what they did with that at the beginning of the movie Toys. It started with Winter Reveries and then went into a lovely Christmas song called The Closing of the Year, which I also love.

of an album I had as a little kid. It was Captain Kangaroo presents the Nutcracker Suite. They added lyrics to all the songs. My husband finds this to be repulsive, but hey, I know every note of the suite!
