Early homo sapiens who were beginning to cognize the connection between blood being shed and hunting for food noticed that women of their tribe would spontaneously begin bleeding for no apparent reason.

Their explanation? They were being hunted. Why couldn't they see their hunters? They must be either very fast or invisible.

What can we do to placate them? I don't know, if they hunting us they must be hungry. Kill something and offer it to them.

How will they know we're offering them food? I don't know, build a pile of rocks or something and put the food up there.

Hey, I've noticed that when our women are pregnant the invisible hunters are leaving them alone. Getting women pregnant must be a good thing. I want to be the one that gets them pregnant. I'll fight you for it.

And on and on and on and on...

...Christian angels, Muslim angels, Jewish angels, New Age angels...

Do you think they might be vestiges of polytheism? They seem to be part of monotheistic religions.

That's a good question. One could certainly read parts of the Old Testament that way where the angels are the 'gods' that are with the High God Yahweh. And the early Christians would sometimes hold that the Greek and Roman gods were real entities, but they were demons (fallen angels).

Proof that the human mind is full of delusions as we try to figure out what "reality" is. Creating angles is part of the illusion that we create out of fear that we may not "know" how something works. Control is an illusion....angles help keep control of the illusion.

My other dog is named Zeus.lol Now that is a lot to live up to. I didn't name Angel. She came with the name and I didn't want to confuse her by changing it.I'm sure she thinks she is an angel, but is way too feisty for the name. She can be positivly viscious with other dogs. She is a shih tzu and she picks fights with pit bulls. She not only isn't an angel, she isn't that bright either. She is sweet with people.

My Mum believes that Angels are a very important part of our spiritual life and lore. They draw very near to us to personally guide, teach, and protect us. Only the pure spirit fragment of the Universal Father that dwells within the heart of each person comes in closer spiritual contact with humans than angels do. Mum is into the Urantia book.

She says they are a form of extraterrestrials so answer is 6. I'm not saying it was aliens... but it was aliens.

No, I haven't but I've been dragged to their meetings more than a few times. I have shown her the same types of things that led me out of Mormonism and she shakes her head and said that she wishes I could believe it and feel as good about things as she does. It makes my head hurt. This is the woman who left my wife beating dad and left the lds cult only to embrace scientology briefly and now this.

I am going to get it for Kindle now though. Looks interesting.
