. . . pounding on Santa?

That is RfM poster "summer's" innovative premise:

"I think that having quite so many anti-Santa threads (is it four, now?) is going to scare off the new board members who are questioning or newly exiting the church. Like it or not, most of those people are going to keep the Santa tradition going even if they end up pitching LDS, Inc."

I must say that is a unique argument that I've never quite heard before. :)

quite making fun of politicians. You're going to scare people away from the United States by thinking that they might have freedom of speech there or something. :)

If an adult can be scared off by being reminded that Santa Claus isn't real then I don't really think they're ready to quit the church just yet..

I have to go to counseling now! That's what I get for reading posts that bash santa!!! Man, sometimes being a grown up sucks!

That is a fantastic phrase. I'll bet some politicians pick up on that one.

...it's the predominant opinion on this board. And it makes us (collectively) look wacky. Call it an opinion.

I never said don't post about it. But five threads, now? Please just give me an estimate of how many more anti-Santa threads there will be so I can mentally gear up to see yet another.

What's the record?

Saying whatever you want to say over and over again in rapid succession might be construed that way.

But have at it.

Keeping up what facade?

"I think that having so many anti-Santa threads makes it look like it's the predominant opinion on this board. And it makes us (collectively) look wacky."

And so what if it does?

Perhaps we are (collectively) wacky. I'm not at all in agreement of repressing opinion for the sake of promoting an image, particularly a false image.

That's the facade I'm talking about.

You're welcome, Steve! :-)

I aim to amuse. Sometimes I just aim.

I was trying to think (while munching my lunch) what personal characteristics of mine *don't* come across on this board. I do have a good sense of humor which I don't show off here. I can also be really ribald IRL. I try to pick my audiences for that, with some noteable failures, lol.

One more piece of evidence for the BofM. It just keeps piling up. Isn't it wonderful and marvelous?
