F.A.I.R/F.A.R.M.S - Because I'll never be a GA anyway...

I noticed this same thing on my mission: the kids that know they don't stand a chance of getting into mission leadership (ie, district leader, zone leader, or assistant to the prez) will try to out-do each other on who is the best bible-basher, deep doctrine guru, scripture quoter, etc.

Do you think that's the primary motivation of these guys over at FAIR & FARMS? They know they'll never be a 70 or an apostle, so they take the apologetics route?

Just a thought..

I think the opposite.

It is my experience that they WANT to be a GA - so they try to outdo themselves in an attempt to be noticed by the true movers and shakers of The Corporation.

Is there, or has there ever been, any overlap between the

apologists and the church power structure, except maybe at the bishop level?
