I had the misfortune to see a pair of one-piece garments that belonged to my father. (Not on him, in the laundry) And on the nipple part, there was a backwards L and a V.

Does anyone know what they mean? I asked my father and he told me: "I can't tell you. They're just a reminder of how we're supposed to live our lives."

Sounds kinda silly that your underwear gives you instructions for daily living.

Joe Smith Jr. ripped off the symbols from the Freemasons. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Temple_garment

They are the square and the compass, stolen from the Masons. Since an organization with a name like "masons" would logically have symbols of construction tools like a compass and a square, it doesn't make a lot of sense for mormons, no matter what they say.

That's my rather terse response, others will give you more details.

I really like your quote: "Sounds kinda silly that your underwear gives you instructions for daily living." It's going to make me chuckle all day! :-)

I stopped wearing magic underwear years ago, but my boxer breifs remind me how to live... supported by my surroundings, but free to follow the urges that swell within.
