Remember that line from 80s era templ film (and may be still in there?) "He is very much exorcised / exercised and seems to be sincere."

Was this a reference to physical fitness or having be recently rid of demonic posession?

It was exorcized, and had nothing to do with driving out demons. It was using the (pretty much) archaic difinition, meaning, "sworn-in", or, "giving an oath".

Is that line still in the ceremony? I am delighted to report that I haven't been since maybe 1986.

I've no idea. I haven't been since '84.

... the real question is:

"If I don't pay my exorcist will I get re-possessed?"

That's what I worry about!

Timothy

Drdad hadn't know it was related to an oath either. Thanks other brother for the info.
