Here is a link to an article in the Smithsonian magazine. I'm wondering if any here feel it has relevance to the often-heard statement that an uneducated farm boy could not have written a complex work like the Book of Mormon.

No doubt that JS was quite a raconteur. He used a stone instead of a Oija board.

Morgbots will just say that the old serpent who is much learned having existed the entire history of the earth is able to dazzle us with his prose. And Patience was just a medium for his skills to lure people from true profits.

There's a good essay about the automatic writing theory in "New Approaches to the Book of Mormon," and there's also at least one Sunstone presentation that is available for download at www.sunstonemagazine.com.
