She doesn't leave cookies and she doesn't love bomb me. She treats me like her friend, instead of a mission and after 6 years she still says hi to me whenever I'm out with the kid and she still has never asked me to come to church or even asked me why I don't go. She was also the RS pres. the first 3 years I lived here and honored my request of no Visiting teachers.

She asked me to join her crossfit group with her because she knew I wanted to get in better shape and I'm actually gratefull she got me going. I truly love it. Three times a week we hang out at the gym together and not one word is spoken about church or callings or how lucky she is to belong to the LDS church or even how many blessings she has.

The only time she ever left something on my porch is when she signed up for Winder Dairy and she gave them my name, so I could get the free sampler, even though she knew I didn't want to sign up as a regular client. She knew the items they gave out weren't going to be wasted and figured that it might as well go to someone she liked instead of someone she just knew through church.

Great to know that you've got a neighbor that you can be friends with that isn't impacted by religious beliefs. :)

I actually had a VT after I went inactive who was new to the ward. I had seen her around the neighborhood and thought she bordered on fanatical. She was assigned to be my VT with a friend of mine. She and I hit it off and even now YEARS later we are still friends and she NEVER love bombs me. She comes over to talk and she doesn't bring up me going to church EVER.

Yep, very similar to what my experience has been like.

The only cookies I've received are from the high functioning autistic kid that was my secretary when I was EQP. And he brought them over saying that he appreciated working in EQ with me and that it had been a good experience. I was touched, honestly.

You should tell her that, indeed, she sets a true example of how mormons should act.

One of our TBM neighbors, er wait, actually he was our home teacher (just switched) that had the good graces to not visit us (in spite of my wife being active) for 3 years now, makes the best damn chocolate chip cookies ever. Big, fluffy and super delicious. His cookies are so famous locally that he doesn't share the recipe with anyone. He gives them out at Christmas or other special occasions. Whenever he makes them for a ward auction they are a hotly contested item. He's actually a really cool guy, someone I've talked to a fair amount outside of the church. He works for an ad company and you can see him here in this Jack in the Box promo looking at "bacon porn" online, lol (scroll down a little): http://www.marrybacon.com/#/weddinggifs/baconporn
