"People often bear false witness with malicious intent. For instance, election candidates sometimes arrange for the "whisperer," the clever one who makes no formal accusation but by innuendos and half-truths and subtle suggestion quietly undermines and unsuspecting opponent. Often they come on the eve of the election, too late to be answered. Such so-called "mud-slinging" should be beneath the dignity of honorable men."
