I mean if their record keeping sucks so much that they are not only still baptizing Jews, but that they baptize Ann Frank multiple times, then how are they going to notice if we start submitting fictional characters?

I won't do Bugs Bunny though, not that his name is too obvious, but because he most certainly has not met a fictional death yet. However, people who have suffered fictional deaths, might include...

Superman's Father
James Hook (Captain Hook)
Captain Ahab
Ichabod Crane
Huckleberry Finn
That guy from the Red Badge of Courage
That other guy who had his brains eaten by Hannibal while he was still alive.
Ebenezer Scrooge
And my personal favorite Hans Gruber

I have no problem submitting Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore, because he died in one of the books, but my ethics will not allow me to submit Harry James Potter, who still has the opportunity to accept the gospel in this current, if fictitious, life.

I feel bad for Anne Frank, each time she's rebaptized does that mean she has to start over the missionary discussions again???

Back when I was a TBM I was very surprised at how few checks and balances there actually are on submitting names for temple work. My in-laws submitted a bunch of names that had major typos, wrong surnames. The work got done before the typos were noticed and they had to resubmit the names. So essentially, 15 people who never existed had their work done. I’m sure that if we’d have snuck Holden Caulfield onto the list that nobody would have been the wiser.

I'm worried about the Flintstone family. Does dead dunking require an exact birthdate? Fred, Betty--I love you!

When doing dead confirming I once had 3 sheets in a row where the only name was smith, that's it.

Ridiculous.

Me and my buddy used to race and see who could do more faster.

Helen Radkey's lengthy report on Mormon Jewish baptisms makes reference to the fact that fictional characters do get baptized in the temple and she specifically mentions Mickey Mouse and his lovely wife Minnie. Had a sealing performed also, as I recall, so we can all rest assured that Mickey and Minnie will spend eternity together.

Mickey was standing in front of the judge and Minnie was crying while sitting at the defendant's table.

The judge said, "Mickey, this such a sad case!, but you did not need to alledge Minnie is insane as grounds for divorce! California is a "No Fault Divorce jurisdiction!

Mickey said, "No your honor! I didn't alledge she was insane! I alleged she was f*¢king Goofey!

I don't think TSCC gives a shit about who the proxy sessins are for...

They just want live tithing paying people to keep going to the temple.

So there was genealogist who did the temple work for the names listed in an old family bible. Each name had birth and death dates except the last one: "Lulabelle". Because he felt inspired to have Lulabelle's temple work done, he followed through with it. Lulabelle was baptized by proxy, endowments, and was sealed to the parents.

Later, the genealogist read in a journal that Lulabelle was the family's milk cow! I heard that story in the SL Temple baptistry when I was a teenager!
