Where it is clearly announced that Hinckley serves as Chairman of the Deseret Management Corp, parent company of Beneficial (at the time). Monson is named too.

Anyone who thinks a Chairman doesn't earn a CEO type salary is deluded.

IF they were paid, ppl would expect a higher skill set from Bps, SPs. Also, their 'professional liability' would be an issue.

Yes, no paid clergy also means no trained clergy either.

However, some Mormons would see that as a positive, assuming that made their leaders humble enough to be led by God and rely entirely on the spirit. When actually, it pretty much sets the field for a lot of loose cannons.

1996? 2012? Which might be more accurate? For free? Doubt it. Maybe the new information didn't make the news for unexplained reasons. I have no idea, I just see what I see.
