the loving "heavenly" "father":
* invisible (he doesnt ever show himself to his "children")
* mute (he doesnt ever speak audibly to his "children")
* deaf (he doesnt hear every one of his "children's" cries for help when they are in trouble)
* willfully lets bad things happen to his "children" / doesnt intervene when bad things happen to his "children"
* gives good things to and prospers many of his "bad children"
* puts many of his "good children" into impoverished families and/or abusive families
* gives his "children" weaknesses
* kills his "children"
* lets his "bad children" kill his "good children"
* sent his "most precious child" to people who would torture and murder him
* praises his "children" that believe things without seeing
* gives responsibility/dominion to "bad children" over his "good children" who he knows by his infinite wisdom will sexually molest and abuse his "good children"
* creates his "children" in a certain way, then tells them that they are born with sinful desires (recently corrected by the lds PR dept. to read "temptations").
* creates deformed/ugly "children"
* creates "children" with abusive/psychotic/murderous predispositions

a loving human father would never willfully do any of these things

(did i miss anything?)

So your points raised a question in my mind:

Are we supposed to respect / show obedience / worship our earthly father?

In the afterlife will we still need to recognize our earthly father as having any sort of dominion over us or will we be equals?

Which leads me to:

If I were a god, I would have humans spawn like salmon. Born with no idea who their earthly parents are, but able to survive on their own. I mean, the whole point of coming here is to gain a body and experience right? Why the need for parents?

and never got a satisfying answer to my questions about it. that has always been a nonsensical doctrine to me. i could never see the purpose when we were supposed to live with our spouse creating new worlds, bla bla bla, we are in effect all equal just born at different times, the whole sealing thing is just a ridiculous idea..and my spirit could be older than my father's, etc...

it probably came about as a way for JS to get more women.
