You have to grow up and marry an Eagle Scout.

Stupid TBM aunt was talking to her 7 yr old grand daughter this morning via skipe. They were talking about the need to tie something....maybe truss the turkey. My aunt told this smart innocent girl that "You need to grow up and marry an Eagle Scout so you can have someone to tie your knots." I spoke up from across the room. "She could learn to tie her own knots, or maybe her husband or wife or whatever will do all the cooking."

I know it was inappropriate to speak up on this day where we should all try to get along, but I just couldn't.

ugh, i don't blame you

that was a ridiculous thing for your aunt to say. i'm generally a conflict-avoider and i think i would've said something too.

I would have said that she was going to be joining a Girl Scout troop, where she'll learn to tie her own knots.
