We have seen the man behind the curtain, and we are trying to tell our friends and family who are still gawking and fawning before the Great Oz.
This is not a symmetric situation- that is, one belief vs. another equally valid one. We are in the position of being better informed- any disinterested party would agree with this.
We hold a truth that is vastly more valid than TBMs. We should not cede the high ground. We have it and they DO NOT.
The problem is that they won't even LOOK at the facts. I had the "good feelings" until I looked at the facts. Then those feelings went away because I learned the facts. My whole world view changed. Most Mormons refuse to look at the facts. If they did, then most would realize what a sham it is. The problem is getting them to actually look.
I'd say a line from the musical Wicked, which is a spinoff is another great analogy, "We believe all sorts of things that aren't true, we call it history." As Mormons refuse to look at the real history, they favor what isn't true at all as their history.
