If you want to feel ashamed of ever being a Mormon, watch the film, "Burying The Past", by Brian Patrick (buryingthepast.com). I am ashamed to know that a church I belonged to is capable of such despicable behavior even now. It's been over 150 years since MMM and no one in the COB is willing to say 'we're sorry'.

While spending 5B on a shopping center, they could have added another 1M and given it to the survivors in Arkansas. Set it up as a trust or give it as a lump sum. And if their not going to say that BY gave the green light, then at least acknowledge that he didn't pursue any justice as head of the Territory.

It is up to you to expose the lie now that you know the truth.

I cannot live a life of shame because something I was born and indoctrinated into has no honor or credibility.

I can only be ashamed if I know of their deception and still support it.

Once I knew better, I did better.

Thanks for the perspective. I guess I took it as guilt by association. And true, now that I know better I need to do better. I no longer support the COJCOLDS and haven't for many years.

Speaking of the film again, I'd like to see it on PBS. There is a movement to get it on Point Of View by emailing pov@pbs.org.

Thanks, SLCabbie!

Brian had signed copies of the movie tonight and he was well supported.

Please don't download the video from the Internet; it was uploaded illegally and filmmaker Brian Patrick doesn't get anything in royalties for his magnificent piece.

If anyone in the Salt Lake area would like to host a screening, there are lots of people who have my contact information. I would be happy to bring my copy to such an event (it's autographed, so I'm not lending it out).

Gordon BS Hinckley is pretty clear on the matter !

The past of 1847 is an ever present mental monument that is a critical reminder of faith and diligence !

However, the past of 1857 is long since gone and way too far removed from the present to be concerned with!

It makes sense ... to MORmONS!!!!
