Funny, there's no mention of the Nauvoo Expositor among all the quotes about Joe's love of freedom and the government's duty to protect it.
Interestingly, Joe got exactly what he deserved according to his own words:

He said, “The Constitution should contain a provision that every officer of the government who should neglect or refuse to extend the protection guaranteed in the Constitution should be subject to capital punishment'.
