I recently heard this line on one of the cartoons my toddler watches and it was so beautiful i just had to share. In the cartoon, one of the characters messes up and is afraid he has ruined the wedding. The groom steps up and explains that the wedding is really about having friends and family there to celebrate their union. It just struck me as seriously screwed up that a cartoon designed for preschoolers teaches better values and christian love than a so called "christian" church. It is an especially sensitive issue right now as i am going to be excluded from yet another wedding of a sibling. I have decided not to wait outside the temple. I am pretty sure i will end up in tears and there is no way i am going to go through that kind of humiliation. Fortunately, DH has offered to take me out on a date the day of the wedding to distract me and cheer me up. How awesome is that?
