It goes back to the Keys thing. Polygamy was supposed to be one of the keys that was restored by Joseph Smith, and all of the apostles together, are supposed to have all the keys, and the prophet is supposed to have all of them on himself.

I mean, as long as polygamy was relegated to one or two top people, who is to ever know if it was ever truly gotten rid of?

Of course they could also just celestially seal themselves to dead girls.

Gay really means happy. I never assume that emotional state about the GAs.

Maybe instead she is just someone who said, "Looks like jello, but may be kool-aid. I'll pass on the lifelong indentured servitude and multiple pregnancy opportunity."

I think of them as being smart. It's probably a gender thing.

I hadn't ever thought of that. I just assumed they didn't get married and therefore continued their career. It is pretty common in the church I think because there are more women than men so not everyone can get married to a TBM if that is what they insist on. I highly doubt they are secretly continuing polygamy. It is way to risky. It would be way to easy for just one woman to go to the media and cause a huge problem for them.

Your right, but I do wonder if the big 15 secretly marry themselves to dead girls in order to carry on the practice of polygamy.

some women in the general public in Utah who appear to be single--but probably are polygamists. I would assume there are some polygamists who attend the LDS church.

What I think is--I'm not a great advocate of "marriage" anymore--but these women most likely wanted to get married. The chances in the lds church keep getting slimmer and slimmer. I think the lds church has nearly destroyed the whole generation of the most recent group of young adults with the porn insanity. I work with several girls who are in their 30s who probably won't get married--and that is because they won't look outside of mormonism. My daughter had many opportunities with nonmos before she decided to become one again. Now all the guys either want to be worshiped or have a porn problem.

Some us figured out we didn't want to be brood mares for eternity and opted to go to a lower kingdom.

my sister in law got married about 6 months ago at the age of 36 to a guy convicted of multiple acts of child molestation and sexual assault of a 22 year old wheel chair bond man.

she was desperate to get married and one day she hopes this creep can take her to the temple.

fyi, they were not allowed to have anyone under 18 at the wedding and he can not be around anyone under 18 unless in a public place like a store as part of his probatation.

They lied before about polygamy. It would not totally surprise me if they are lying now.

I've heard rumors that DO McKay's long time secretary (Kate Middleman, I think) who is buried next to Pres. McKay and his wife was in fact a polyg wife. True? Anyone know.

I've always thought it was interesting at how rapidly widowers in the the big 15 remarry. Or is that simply a subsidiary wife moving to first place?

That is actually what made me think of this. It was probably just a creepy conspiracy theory I came up with after a couple of drinks.

as mentioned before they have a history of lying and covering things up.

a thought, I wonder how many of the big 15 try to bang everything with a hole like JS did?

No, I don't. I don't think modern Mormons practice polygamy anymore.

I never assume..... y'all know what that means, right? It makes an: ass out of u and me!

I'm a believer in the ability of people to dedicate themselves to service of others and their religion. It's been done for thousands of years in the most altruist sense. I come from a long line of people who were ministers and missionaries in foreign countries that gave up their usual lives in the service of others.
They do it honestly and sincerely.
