"We love and respect every member of the Church. People make their own decisions about the direction they will follow in life," Purdy said in a statement. "While there are very few who take this action, it is sad to see someone choose to leave. We wish them well."

This quote from the Reuters article got me thinking about what a lie it is to say very few take this action to resign. Just on the exmormon board alone people post daily about resigning, leaving or not believing. So, I thought that it would be interesting to do a running total of exmos. Just take the number from the previous post and add to it.

I will start. DH, Me & our 3 children are all exmormons (and so proud).

Me and my brother =30. As well, our parents and older brother, but all three passed on w/o knowing they needed to resign to be considered " former members".

And Michael Purdy, does the expression "leaving in droves" ring a bell?

Both of us + 3 kids = 5
Sister's entire family = 7
Another sister and her husband = 2
A brother and his son = 2

So 16 + 31 = 47

So a recalculation - 47 + 2 from ymountain = 49

I was the only officially baptised one in my family (kids had not been when I asked for name removel) so I will say 1 for myself. My sister and her son=3. And my SIL and her daughter adds two more.

So 75+5=80
