Edited to add: Now that I've read a few of the background articles on this case, I am totally pissed. The judge admonished the victim to "be more vigilant." She was in a public venue and not interacting with the assailant in any way. The cop who assaulted this woman got no jail time and will not have to register as a sex offender. He told the people who called in the assault that he was a cop and threatened them with arrest. The impact statements made at his trial--by his family and ex-girlfriend--whined about how he will have trouble finding employment and...wait for it...he won't be able to hunt now because he's a convicted criminal. God forbid that a misogynistic, creepy, self-pitying assailant should be BANNED from his GOD-GIVEN RIGHT to shoot deer and turkeys. What a bag of assholes.

Some states do not consider muzzle loaders 'guns' per se. So, felons are allowed to possess them.

If he really wants to hunt, he can go to one of those states and blast away, one shot at a time until he kills a turkey or shoots himself in the foot...

What I can't believe is how prevalent these ideas still are in our society! That man is such a slave to his testosterone that he can’t control himself, therefore it’s the woman’s responsibility to make sure she’s not in his way when he‘s feeling ornery or drunk, that she doesn’t set him off in some way (by being a women) and of course doesn’t go to bars, thus proving she’s just asking for it.

I guess the next time a drunk kills a family with their drunk driving, we can go back to old school and write if off and an accident caused by the harmless drunk, they didn’t mean it, they were under the influence and didn’t know what they were doing, too bad those people picked the wrong time to drive, no use ruining the drunks life charging him with a crime.

The images of that poor little boy, screaming and crying, are some of the most terrible things I have ever seen. What a truly evil woman. Who could put any child through that, let alone her own grandchild? He obviously hated her and was terrified to be left with her, but since grandma had a court order the parents had no choice. And how the hell did grandma get a court order, anyway? Isn't grandparent visitation extremely hard to get and keep?
