That bad novel would have ended up as nothing but a bad novel.

And I would have probably been born into a very very very rich very very very loving family and all my dreams would have come true and I'd be living happily ever after.

I always assumed he was selling the rights away in Canada. Which would have left him free to carry on with his cult activities south of the border.
