I think this trend will move surprisingly in the next decade. I've heard very nervous rumblings from religions about attrition of the young, to which the LDS lowering of missionary age was a response. It is good. Sam Harris would make a good role model for teens.

Not just in the US but accros the earth the young are communicating under the nose of their elders.

Question everything, absorb all information possible then act accordingly.

I think rationguy is right.

Outside the knowledge of my relatives some of their children have plans to dump the religion of the parents as soon as they get out the door.
