yay for national attention, though no one should be taken aback since the church has always been very clear on its criticism.

Though I guess since he's talking about the hypothetical stability that comes from marriage and used the word assume... I know that the apostles now were raised in the 50's nuclear family, but we've known for a long time that being married doesn't make anything anymore stable than not being married.

What repulsed me was his putting gay marriage and parenting on his list of horrors against against children.

Jeez, we've fought the pedophile stereotype but now we're being listed with child sex trafficing and child soldiers?

And there you have it: words of marriage wisdom from the gaping pie-hole of an Eternal Polygamist.

Dallin Oaks' Eternal Bitch #1: June Dixon (1952–1998; deceased)

Dallin Oaks' Eternal Bitch #2: Kristen Meredith McMain (2000–present)

As far as I'm concerned, Dallin can go fuck himself for the rest of eternity.

There are plenty of us here that came from hetero/ married/mormon/families. We came out battered and beaten on many levels. We're spending our adulthoods trying to heal the disaster that combination brought into our lives.

Yes, Mia, my idiot parents followed Mormonism, dotting every i and crossing every t. Yet they were allowed to beat and scold their offspring. Mormon Mom cursed the day her babies were born. Mormon Dad beat and belittled his boys, calling them girls and babies for crying.

I know, let's have Oaks advise people on child-rearing!

I hope it's like Packer's "Why would our heavenly father do that to anyone" (referring to being born gay) that was subsequently retracted and not printed in the conference issue. Would be great to see them change "inspired" words from an "apostle" yet again. :)
