Absolutely fantastic news - you're new life and title as a 'non Mormon'. You've totally EARNED it, bud! I'll have an extra glass of wine in your honor at dinner.
I remember the day I got my final notice letter. I had felt that kind of joy on only a few occasions in my life! When I was in the cult, there was always a dark cloud over any happiness I had. Now I've left the cult, I feel like I'm in love--happy, free, full of hope, more powerful, adventurous. In the middle of my life, I feel like kicking up my heels! Not rebelling, but celebrating every day!
Congratulations to a fellow Albertan!! Well sort of "fellow", since I've been in Australia 15 years. But as I have friends and rellies in Lethbridge (some that have left, some still exercising bullshit control over people and some being abused by such people) I know how awful the church and church culture is in Southern Alberta. I spent a lot of my youth visiting Cardston and Lethbridge, worked in Medicine Hat a couple summers, had a girlfriend in Milk River and had my first drink and weed in Cardston, so I have a real soft spot for Southern Alberta, but despise the Mormon culture side.
If I ever get down there again, I'll look you up to share a Lethbridge Pil!
Lethbridge Pil ain't! Made in Edmonton now I think. I'm a fan of Big Rock Breweries offerings from Calgary, but you're on for a cold one when you coma back.
