She knew how to open our doors, and ran out to the road & was struck by a car. My heart is broken.

I had a dog killed by being run over (got up and ran to me, but died on the way to the vet) 15 years ago. I had to put my next dog down 1-1/2 years ago. Two of the worst days of my life.

I am so very, very sorry.

I waited almost a year to get the dog I have now. I adopted him at PetSmart--he is slightly "deformed"--and he is a homely little dog--and is personality plus. He brought joy back into my life.

Oh my god!!! I'm so, so, SO sorry :( all my huge and comfort to you at this horrendous time! There are few things worse than losing a family member (which is what a pet is).

Oh, no, Maggie was the sweetest dog! We had a great conversation on your sofa. She was very accepting, putting her head on my leg. I am so very sorry, honey.

I do have one question? Since you are Job, why have you not mentioned the boils?

Seriously, one thing after another!

Condolences, AmbiXMO. When our only child died I don't know HOW I would have survived if my empty arms hadn't been filled with my pets. So very, very sorry.

I'm so sorry. The loss of a fur baby is so painful. In times of loss like this, I have found comfort in the Rainbow Bridge website.

Be kind to yourself as you grieve and remember the good times.

I am sorry to hear this. I've known a lot of dogs that were a lot better people then many of the actual people that I know. Sounds like your dog may have been one of those kinds.

My heart hurts for you, AmEx. There's nothing quite like the love and devotion of a dog, and no words suffice for such an unexpected loss.

To make sure memory served, I searched for Weimaraners and found a photo that is no doubt nowhere near as adorable as your pup.

Tazer(my pup), had a best friend at the dog park that was that breed. Almost had enough energy to keep up with Taze :).

Again, I'm sorry Ambi :(

There is nothing in life like a good dog. They are always happy to see you, and they love you when know one else will.

Sorry for your loss.

Brings back a rush of memories--the time my beautiful 4 month old golden retriever pup was kicked to death by a horse, the time my aging golden retriever collapsed and died in the back yard. It is so hard. So sorry for your loss

So sorry for your loss. I grew up a cat person, but now have my beautiful baby Spot. I watched as she ran over one road nearly missed and headed for the freeway. I screamed, but she was ok. I can't even imagine how hard this is for you.

I get it, the "mans best friend". I never did before. It's ok to cry too, don't let anyone tell you any different :(

I'm not a very emotional person normally. When my mom passed away it took probably six months before I cried, and even then I cried very little.

However, when I had to put my dog down a few years ago I bawled like I never had cried before and honestly since.

Sorry for your loss. :(

I am so sorry Ambivalento. Losing those furry kids is the worst. We have had some horrendous scares a few times that left us shaking for days. You have my deepest sympathy.
