EL's first book "Devil In The White City" got lots of Both readership & critical acclaim.

His current hit is likewise getting Excellent Reviews.

Both are historically accurate books, written in style of novels.

ITGotBeasts, Larson give us insights about what happened in Germany/Berlin as Hitler was growing in Power; he says that most Germans were either mislead or in Denial about what was happening under A.H., especially his treatment of Jews (who he says were only 1% of German population).

as time goes on, he said that people's denial grew to match the increasing mal/mistreatment of target groups, paranoia, and militarization going on around them.

It reminds me of the delusions that mormons live in; 'All Hail' to the leader, with no examination of substance; a feined attention to the 'common good' covered people's greed & lock-step adherance to the Party Line.

He also mentions how the Heil Hitler salute came into use, but was mostly for the benefit of 'the masses' (suggested) <another post about 'raising your arm to the square' reminded me>
