he admits he gambles and maybe drinks alcohol etc.

Have a look at the way he is being used as a celebrity mormon poster child?

I don't know about his glamtastic showmanship; from what I've seen, he just kind of stands there and yells and bounces up and down a little, like this:

It takes a lot of suck to make Duran Duran look bad, imo. Donny Osmond would have done a much better job.

Maybe the Mormon Times writer hasn't seen much glamtastic showmanship?

Which one is Brandon, the younger one with dark hair or older blonde dude?

(sorry, I really don't know... but am guessing he's the dark haired guy)

Isn't killing a sin? What does the BoM say about this? Where did he serve his mission?

they should listen to the lyrics on his latest album before spotlighting it...these are clearly of a man going through a considerable amount of conflict with his religious "conviction".

Famous mormons are allowed facial hair, even the females.

Just listen to some of the Killers' music, or even Flowers' new album. Seriously. It's not overall "wholesome" or "uplifting" or whatever. Much of it would not qualify for "good listening" according to church authorities. Why do mormons want to claim Flowers like he's speaking for their religion or something? Wow.
