My suspicion is they hate their own far more than the offended and sinning apostates

Just a hunch, but the feedback I've gotten is that unless "The Brethren" be they a member of the last quorum of their seventy or the presiding president of their corporation of the first president, these men have far more opportunity to harbor hard feelings for the members of their flock than the people who want to see them fall from their Rameumptons.
