I don't know how many of you remember my posts and tears of my grandpa who was in the hospital awhile back. Well I sent him something that is only important to him and I for Christmas.

I sent him a DQ gift card and a note about how much I love him and appreciate every ice cream memory together.

I received a not back from my step-grandma about how when he opened the card, he had a huge smile, then tears welled up in his eyes. She said that he tells everyone all the time about our ice cream trips.

I just wanted to share because I am so happy. I have only shared it with one other person and I just feel like telling the world.

We have no idea how much longer he has left. He goes in and out based upon the day, but I am just missing him and excited that he was happy for my gift.

Thanks for reading :D

Great story - very thoughtful of you. Every grandpa should have at least one granddaughter like you.

Best wishes coming your way.

That is so sweet and caring. It's the memories of our loved ones that make them live on in our hearts when they're gone.

What a darling gift, Fidget! And what a kindly grandpa you have.

I had so much fun shopping for Christmas gifts for what would be my mom's last Christmas. They were mostly simple things that would keep her comfortable, like warm slippers. And then we were socked in for a week-long blizzard together a couple of months later!

Thank you all. You made me cry. It's not that I'm sweet, but that he deserves so much.

I wish I could be across the country, but this is the next best thing.
