I joined this site a few days ago after telling my parents that I want nothing to do with the LDS church (precious post "Now I'm the bad guy") My Dad is still distant, but today is the first day I have seen them since I told them. For the first time in our current home (7 years)the missionaries came to the door. Though my Mom has been really upset by my feelings on the church, when she answered the door for them she told them that I am not interested and not to come back.

Jaw hit the floor! While I am sure they will be back, I am so proud of my Mom for respecting my wishes. It really meant a lot to see her do that. Perhaps things will move forward with less bumps then I hoped!

I hope I conveyed it well enough, but I do plan to send her an email as well. Sadly I take after my Dad and I communicate much better with the written word then the spoken word!

Low and behold not two hours later they were back! I knew they would be, but I thought they would wait longer than 2 freaking hours!

I told them we are not interested, as they were told before. Then I closed the door on them. Not the nicest way to handle it but hopefully it got the point across!

Seriously? Two hours? Don't keep us in suspense, what happened next?

The problem is that too many missionaries are rude, have no manners, just show up, and won't leave when told to.
WHAT IS THE MATTER WITH THEM?????

We had some missionaries come by to ask about a neighbor several years ago, then ask if we were LDS. I said we were inactive. The jack a$$ told me that I was going to hell. I told him I'd see him there and slammed the door.

I hope it doesn't get to that point here!
