I think most TBM’s are compelled into practicing Mormonism for the wrong reasons, such as family & culture pressures. The list goes on & on. As a result, church pews seem filled with unhappy, bored and depressed people.

As for me, when I was TBM it did it mainly to woo the girl I wanted to marry and then became inactive years after I was married. Before that I thought the only way a girl would marry me was to go on a mission. I went on my mission and my girlfriend and I broke up after I got home.

I would bet there is more church going Mormons who fall into similar situations rather than those church going members who are sincere in their beliefs. Maybe they're doing similar things for the wrong reasons. Or do they do it because they feel in their heart it’s the right thing to do.

Lots of ulterior motives out there.

I’m glad I’m out now, have taken off my mask and can be true to myself.

Obedience to church leaders, obedience to doctrine, and obedience to unwritten rules (e.g. white shirts for men at Sunday meetings)

How can a person be true to himself until he discovers (through life experience) who he is? And how can he discover who he is if he accepts being told what to do, even down to what underwear he must wear?

Be the cause of the baby factory(men)
what to say(no cussing)
down to your sexuality!

It's insane!
