What can you add?

"The Lord works in mysterious ways."

"It will be answered in the next life."

"God needed him (her). (IOW: His(her) work here on earth was finished.)"

"Heavenly Father was watching over me (her, him, it, them)."

"God sees everything."

The church is perfect. People aren't.

Pray to gain a testimony that the church is led by a prophet.
vs.
If you get a revelation that is different than what the prophet says you are in error.

The gospel is all truth
vs.
We only look at sources that confirm what we already believe

I know the church is true, without any doubt.
vs.
My testimony is so fragile that if I look at anything information Satan will deceive me

You gain a testimony by bearing it.

"President Boyd K. Packer, President of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, said:

“'It is not unusual to have a missionary say, "How can I bear testimony until I get one? How can I testify that God lives, that Jesus is the Christ, and that the gospel is true? If I do not have such a testimony, would that not be dishonest?"

“'Oh, if I could teach you this one principle: a testimony is to be found in the bearing of it!'"

The ends justify the means: the truth of the Mormon gospel is discovered through repeating a lie ("I know the church is true ... I know the church is true ... I know the church is true ...")!

Through repetition, the lie of the lips becomes the truth of the heart.

I'm reminded of what the Nazi propagandists called "The Big Lie." Something completely dishonest is repeated over and over in the print media until it becomes accepted truth.

Like tithing obligations being repeated in the latest Ensign.

Yup that is some strong kool aid

My father told me that I wouldn't get a testimony if I didn't pray when I refused to say the pray for supper lol

Going to the temple is a beautiful experience.

The veil is very thin.

You will be rewarded for giving the church money.

I know Joseph Smith is a prophet.

I know TM is a prophet and guides us in these latter days.

God won't give you more than you can handle.

The bishop is given inspiration concerning you.

The prophet will never lead us astray.

Only use church approved lesson manuals.

Fast and pray for answers.

If you have children, the Lord will provide.

When your son goes on a mission you will be amazed at the blessings you receive during those 2 years.

You aren't accountable until you're 8.

Your family will be safe while you're at the temple.

It's such a blessing to have the priesthood in our home.

Having sex out of wedlock is almost as bad as killing someone.
Never turn down a calling.

If you don't raise your children in the church, their sins are on your head.

People who don't have the gospel just think they're happy.

Do blah, blah, blah...and you'll be blessed.

When obedience ceases to be an irritant and becomes our quest, in that moment God will endow us with power.

You're such a good person, I can't believe you're not a mormon.

They [anyone who is not mormon] aren't really happy.

We're not a Cult.

They left because they wanted to sin. [As if they couldn't sin if they were mormons.]

I don't know where I'd be without the church. I'd probably be _____. [Fill in the blank with dead, on drugs, in prison, lying in a gutter...]

The Book of Mormon is soooo inspiring! [Mark Twain had it right, its chloroform in print.]

The FLDS are not mormons. We have nothing in common. [Other than Joe Smith, BY, BOM, Pearl of Great Price, Doctrine and Covenants....]

Joseph Smith had only one wife, Emma.

We don't believe in polygamy. [Other than current members of the Qof12 that have talked in conference about their second wife being another wife for all time and eternity.]

The COJCOLDS does more charity and humanitarium work than all other churches put together. [Yep, $5 per member per year definitely beats all other churches put together.]

Other churches have only parts of the truth, the COJCOLDS is the only one with the whole truth.

Only the COJCOLDS believes that you will be with family members after death.

That one pisses me off to no end, and it did when I was TBM, too.

My roommate at BYU had a picture of Jesus with that quote written on it. I wanted to grab him by the throat and say "WHERE IN ANY OF THE FOUR STANDARD WORKS DOES CHRIST SAY THOSE WORDS?!"

I can make up sayings and attribute them to Jesus, too.

The truth is not uplifting; it destroys. BKP

Masturbation leads to homosexuality. If they believe that they should also believe that they can identify all the homosexuals by the hair on their palms.

When bad things happen to someone outside of the church:
"This wouldn't have happened if you would have been faithful to your covenants and went to church. God blesses those who are faithful and valiant."

When bad things happen to a member of the church:
"Heavenly Father sent us to this earth to receive a body and be tested. We just have to trust him and endure to the end, and take comfort in the Gospel."

And now Abinadi said unto them: I would that ye should understand that God himself shall come down among the children of men, and shall redeem his people. And because he dwelleth in flesh he shall be called the Son of God, and having subjected the flesh to the will of the Father, being the Father and the Son—The Father, because he was conceived by the power of God; and the Son, because of the flesh; thus becoming the Father and Son—And they are one God, yea, the very Eternal Father of heaven and of earth.

The experience of same-sex attraction is a complex reality for many people. (Complex??? Nooooo, pretty easy reality)

The attraction itself is not a sin, but acting on it is. (&**%^& that's the most ridiculous statement I've ever heard and what exactly constitutes 'acting' on it??? is it having a friend of the same sex? Holding hands? kissing? Because I'm pretty sure these homophobic bastards don't even know)

Even though individuals do not choose to have such attractions, they do choose how to respond to them. With love and understanding, the Church reaches out to all God’s children, including our gay and lesbian brothers and sisters.
(And that is the biggest load of crap I've yet to hear/read)

During the middle of the deepest global recession since...well, since before I was born...the Prophet made this statement on fiscal prudence:

"One, Two, Three, Let's Go SHOPPING!"

Member of the Presiding Bishopric explains why only rich people can get into Mormon Heaven:

“The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints attends to the total needs of its members,” says Keith B. McMullin, who for 37 years served within the Mormon leadership and now heads a church-owned holding company, Deseret Management Corp. (DMC), an umbrella organization for many of the church’s for-profit businesses. “We look to not only the spiritual but also the temporal, and we believe that a person who is impoverished temporally cannot blossom spiritually.”
