In 1945-46, the year of my birth, the Vatican of Pius PPXII provided passports to Italian Fascists and German Nazis to escape justice and flee. In South America, Brazilian dictator Vargas and Argentinian dictator Peron and Paraguayan dictator Stroessner gave them refuge. In Brazil, the ICAB was formed in opposition to this influx of right wing refugees.
