Is Doctrines of Salvation a good resource for finding all the older doctrines of the church? Also, are there significant changes between editions or printings?

Thanks!

Doctrines of Salvation and Answers to Gospel Questions (written by Joseph Fielding Smith or one the other guys on the cough drop box) were popular sources of definitive takes on doctrine in the 60's. The books grew out of unofficial writings and were never cannonized. McConkie was the son-in-law and took up "Dad's" ramblings. One of the real jewels commanded a wife to accept pregnancy even though her doctors prohibited such for fear of her life. This Smith Brother was ultra conservative and dogmatic. In other words a total ass. The husband wrote in the question in order to get an answer that would force his wife to have unprotected sex. "Power to the Priesthood" or is that "Power to the PENIS?" Now you have add myscoginistic (sp?) tol the list.

In case you couldn't tell, I dispised the man even while I remained in modum.
