I saw one of my hospice patients today and on her coffee table was a Catholic bulletin. So I asked her if she was excited about the new pope. Her response, "Why can't they get a young guy? He's 76!"

I laughed inside because I grew up with men in their 80s and 90s becoming prophet. I never had the courage to complain about their age and senility. I DID start to complain why they were all white. I served a mission in Argentina and one of the worst parts of all the discussions was the Third discussion where I had to introduce the 15. I'd show the picture of them and more than once I got the question, "Why are they all white?" Good question! It's 2013 and there still isn't a man of color in that position. Why did God only want men from Utah that were related to each other to become apostles?
