For those living in the Salt Lake Valley and the surrounding area, there is a support/discussion group for Mormons in transition.

We are meeting this Sunday, March 17th at 12:30 P.M.

Location:

South Valley UU Building

South Valley UU
6876 S. Highland Drive (2000 East)
Salt Lake City, UT

It's just off the I-215 Freeway. Just take the 2000 East exit. It's on the right next to the KFC.

The meeting is completely confidential.

Please contact Bill Dobbs, e-mail bellerophon22@comcast.net if you want more information, or just show up.

I highly recommend this group for anyone wanting to discuss their issues with Mormonism and feel support by others who are struggling. Some of us have already left the church while some of us are still involved in the church. Most of us are dealing with believing spouses, parents, children and/or sibling issues.

I first became a doubter forty years ago, and I sure wish there had been a support group available in the Salt Lake Valley at the time. I ended up attending Unitarian services -- along with several other former Mormons -- but I never came across anyone who wanted to talk about their doubts, etc.

If I still lived in the Valley, I would attend your meetings and try to extend any help I could. I realize times have changed, but I imagine it can still be a lonely experience for anyone who's brave enough to challenge Mormonism at its very core.
