Because there's no mention of Joseph Smith having a handgun and using it to shoot two people. He was portrayed as defenseless, a "Lamb Led to The Slaughter," a true martyr.
With people's easy access to "factual history" on the internet, doesn't TSCC realize they do more harm to their cause by weaving an incomplete and/or dishonest history such as this? They seem incapable of adapting to today's world, for which Darwin said,
"It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is most ADAPTABLE TO CHANGE." (my emphasis)
