Weaseling out of collecting fast offering - Tell your story

I complained to the Bishop that we arn't supposed to work on Sunday. Didn't go over too well.

My story is about getting the deacons to quit coming around every month. I tried to be nice to these kids knowing that they don't want to be collecting offerings either. I was finally fed up with telling them monthly to please come anymore, tell your leader, etc. One month I took the offering envelope from the deacons, tore it up and threw it away. They must have waited on my porch for awhile, because the doorbell rang again about 5 minutes later. My husband answered the door and told them "Sorry guys. You can't have the envelope back. My wife just tore it into tiny pieces." That was the last we saw of them on fast Sunday.

I didn't weasel out ...

but I was very disheartened by seeing old widows put two dollars in the envelope.

Walking around the neighborhood doing this dirty deed every fast sunday was the job of the teachers quorum.
