I think this question is worthy of it's own thread if only to allow people to back up their remarks with links and references.

Personally I'm ambivalent towards homosexuality and believe "live and let live" is the way forward.

Is it unnatural and wrong that I'm having as much fun as I am right now?

Here is a link that I posted to your ill informed comments before:

So, why is it that you claim that something so prevalent in nature is unnatural?

Otherwise, shut your pie-hole and learn from your betters.

Unnatural suggests it's against nature.
The only way that it can be against nature is the argument that the union between two men or two women cannot produce babies.
But we can get round that through adoption processes and surrogate processes and artificial insemination processes.

Think about it this way.
Humans flying, by definition, is against nature. We don't have wings so we are not meant to fly.
But we can get round that through airplanes and parachutes and hang gliders etc.

So the 'unnatural' position on homosexuality is a case of people picking and choosing what "unnatural" things they object to.
(I'm assuming you don't have a moral issue on flying)

Just my humble viewpoint not based on science or theology.

I read where you, edmarc, said you found it disgusting. Well I find you disgusting. My sister is homosexual, and she is delightful. So are several other gay people I know.

What makes you think you are so superior, that your way is the right way, the best way, the only way? Homosexuality absolutely DOES appear in every species in nature, and even if it did not, who are you to judge other people in such a harsh manner? You seriously need to grow up!

Typical apologist type of response. edmarc wouldn't answer the straightforward questions I asked in the other thread, and instead rambles on about "unnatural".

He is obviously afraid that if it isn't unnatural, he doesn't need to ignore his own feelings anymore.

And when it comes to those who can and can't have children--then explain to me infertility in heteros.

... that can be considered "Un-natural"

Nature: The physical world including all natural phenomena and living things

Natural: Relating to the physical rather than the spiritual world.

Unnatural: Contrary to the physical laws of nature.

Human beings are products of nature. As a result, any and all human behavior is quite natural. As far as homosexuality in males goes, placing a round peg in a round hole doesn't even come close to defying the physical laws of nature and therefore cannot be considered un-natural.

Don't even get me started on that hot girl-on-girl action!

Morality is a human construct that is likewise quite natural. That it often attempts to put square pegs in round holes tends to suggest that it does, indeed, go against the physical laws of nature from time-to-time, thus rendering much of it un-natural.

Homosexuality is quite natural.

Any more questions?

Timothy

Oh for cryin' out loud. I thought we lived in the 21st century, but some apparently not, Ed.

Homosexuality is a part of nature, you see it in all species.

Hey, Ed. In my vast experience (I'm old), I've learned that those that protesteth too much most likely are in denial... or.... in the closet.

Enuff Said.

+1
We see this time and time again- those who make the strongest protests often have something to hide.

Wait a minute, according to the Book of Mormon the "natural" man is an enemy to God:

Mosiah 3[19] "For the natural man is an enemy to God, and has been from the fall of Adam, and will be, forever and ever, unless he yields to the enticings of the Holy Spirit, and putteth off the natural man..."

So maybe gays are off the hook here.

Here's the doubletalk from church leaders:
1- Homosexuality is wrong because it's unnatural
2- The natural man is an enemy to God and must put off the natural man

#2 actually would suggest that the "heterosexual natural man" should become homosexual to satisfy Nephi's statement

it has been with man from the beginning. 1500 species of animals practice homosexuality. One big problem is people for the most part do not want to admit they are part of the animal kingdom and want to believe they are above the acts of animals.

Truth is we are a bunch of pink hairless monkeys who like to kill, screw and party.

Monkeys have tails... Apes don't...

The current classification (per Wiki) is that we are all hominoids...

Monkeys are placed within two other families, one of which is more closely related to apes than to the other...

It would have considerable survival value for small tribal groups. Sexual tensions (given the human sex drive) between men and men and women and women competing for the same partners could be a disaster.

On the other hand, a male who wasn't interested in the chief's wife but could join in hunting, competition, and warfare against others would be a formidable force...

And additional women who could provide extra child care for humans' incredibly long maturational needs would also be of benefit.

Natural, absolutely...

...of how God and nature made us, for as yet unknown reasons. What is certain is that no one knows for sure why some people are heterosexual, some homosexual, and some bisexual.

It may have survival value.
