Building contracts

I have read on various forums how relatives of GA's and prominent members are awarded lucrative building contracts.

Does anyone have any hard evidence of this - specifically names, share holdings and speficic building projects.

Also, is there a transparent tendering process followed when building work is commissioned?

W. Craig Zwick 1st Q of 70. Built some history museums, Portland temple, and other LDS projects. Only one I know about.

The church has a short list of building contractors that they invite to bid on their projects. All of these companies are owned by mormons. Jobs are awarded based on competitive bid amongst this group. Sealed bids are collected at a certain time and place, and they are opened one at a time and read publicly. I used to work for an architect in SLC that did alot of work for the church.
