Actually nothing bad. This could be for a few reasons; either my mormon friends have learned to ignore me, the didn't read it, or they didn't see it.

My step-sis-in-law was very nice about it.

She posted this video in response;

Any seen it? It's actually pretty good. (So far, only half way through).

It's a very good video. Watch all the way to the end. We used it as part of our exit story.

Yeah, it's a good video and I'd say pretty TBM friendly.

The video is really great. However one thing that I don't like is that he keeps calling it "struggling with their testimony." It isn't that my testimony is struggling, it is that I don't have one, because there is no reason to have a testimony about a bunch of lies.

This is true - however it is putting the situation in terms the TBM can relate to. I used those words "struggling with my testimony" when I was on my way out - but yeah now I'm all the way out there is no struggling anymore.

The only response I got to my share was a TBM/jackmo friend asked me if I've been mountain biking lately - fair enough.

There are a few tweaks I'd make to the video, but all in all, if a TBM will watch it, at least they will know how to behave towards apostates.

"Struggling" is such a funny word to use. I imagine wrestling with an imaginary friend.

I, also, wasn't" struggling with my testimony". Rather, my testimony was that the church is not true. Actually got TRs on the basis I had a "testimony" and wasn't asked what the testimony was. When asked directly, I told them. Not only the bish and SP but the whole high council. In spades.

Very true twojedis. I have to keep in mind he is a TBM making the video. I truly don't get how you can know all the history and still make excuses for it, enough to go on believing in it.

John Dehlin is not a TBM. He might make some excuses for it, but he is not a TBM.

No doubt. I don't know what he is, but I am just grateful for that video. Any TBM watching it and actually listening will behave better.

I sit corrected. I assumed he was because he mentioned teaching lessons and preparing them. He also mentions "trouble with their testimonies" a lot which helped me assume he was speaking as a mormon.

One of the reasons Joseph Smith quoted verbatim from the Bible is so that the Book of Mormon would agree with the Bible in that regard. If his quotations would have varied, people would have noticed that and said he was wrong. King James scholars that translated the Bible took similar liberties in their work. Just sayin.
