Salt Lake Tribune is reporting that one of the two men who sneaked past church security in broad daylight and parachuted off the church office building was none other than the grandson of Hartman Rector, Jr., a popular general authority.

As another interesting twist, this same general authority has ties to Rick Koerber, the "Free Capitalist" recently charged with federal affinity fraud in an alleged ponzi scheme. Rector attended many of Koerber's sales pitch seminars and Koerber is alleged to have used him to imply church endorsement of his business. Google the two for more info.

Their son Daniel was killed at about age 40 by accidentally falling off a cliff while hiking about 6-7 years ago. This is sickening that their grandson would do this knowing about his uncle's tragic death. Stupid thing to do to his family.

I grew up with the Rector family. It wasn't Hartman's Uncle that died by falling off a cliff,,,,it was his father!!! He's staring fear right in the face. Perhaps that is why he likes it. A bit twisted,,,,but then again I haven't lost my father.

Why should someone else's death define how one lives his or her life? My grandfather was killed when he was struck by a car while crossing a street. Is it disrespectful and "stupid" for me to cross a street knowing of his tragic death?

Maybe it's more akin to me smoking a pack a day knowing full well my dad died of emphasema.

Just sayin'...
