Catholics: "The Pope is infallible..."
Evangelicals: "The Bible is infallible..."
Mormons: "The Church is infallible..."

Get the picture?

Infallible claims are not infallible? :)

I think this guy gets it.
I think he drives the point home like a jack hammer on a sheet rock nail.

it is kind of amusing

the Jews were supposed to be the chosen keepers of "THE" faith
but they messed up, did not really understand what they were doing, and ended up having their messiah nailed to a cross,

but the new christians understood, so they as the catholic church had to take over as keeper of "THE" faith, and the new testament was added to the scriptural canon.

after a while it became apparent that the catholic church did not really know what they were doing, so the reformers aka protestants had to take over.

after a while it was obvious that the protestants did not really know what they were doing so the MORmONS had to take over with a divinely mandated *restoration* , and the Book of MORmON was added to the scriptural canon.

The latest installment of the judeo - christian - MORmON saga is always critically needed and infallible by their own declaration, as the previous installment seriously messed up despite their being chosen and / or infallible.

One of the things my imploding faith in tscc is teaching me is skepticism of everything, including my own thoughts and views.

That's the way I proceed. I believe things in degrees, not true/false.

I doubt that you will ever hear a mormon use the "I" word (too suggestive of a cheap date from Babylon). Nope - mormons use the "P" word: "The Church is Perfect".

"The church is true." When they say that, what do they mean by "the church?" Do they mean the doctrines? "the Church" to me doesn't usually mean just doctrines or creeds, and I thought it was supposed to mean the people. This is one screwy concept in Mo-ism.
