Pretty much. I was an officiator at the time. I could get rather personal. Quite frankly, the men didn't like it either.

Regardless of how they behaved, it was an offensive requirement to place your breast on a man's breast you don't know.

What does it matter who liked or did not? How is that relevant? I thought the whole thing had been given by revelation from God to JS.

So why did they CHANGE the sacred, NOT secret, temple ceremony that had been revealed to JS ,by God himself, just 2 months after he became a 32nd degree mason?

Apparently God thought all the touchy feely stuff was appropriate until about 1990, when he just changed his mind. Man, God is confused.

In the sixties I was a veil worker in the LA temple. There was a wooden framework between officiator and inductee that limited the intimacy of contact. That was the only temple I was ever in so I have no idea if that was common to other temples. Apparently not.
