When the earth was hurled, it was hurled at nearly the speed of light. It is only 6000 years old because it aged relatively slowly to Kolob. Of course in order to get to that speed it would have almost infinite mass, but meh! God can do anything.

Either that or a wormhole. Some kind of wormhole was probably involved.
