I've been a former mormon for quite some years now. And life is good!

Not that I haven't had difficult or stressful times. I have. Life hasn't been all roses (just like everyone).

Yet approx. 20 years from going inactive to getting my name officially removed, leaving mormonism is still the best decision I made for me personally. It's a decision I don't regret and haven't regret. And a lot has happened over the years. Well, sometimes I think it would be nice to work for equality for women and GLBT from within the system, but that would mean I'd have to attend and watch the discrimination first hand.

I wish the new missionaries the best of luck. It will be a hard sell for this apostate. And if they can answer some specific Book of Mormon and Pearl of Great Price questions, all the better.
